Tuckpointing

Tuckpointing is the process of grinding out cracked/failing mortar joints and replacing the mortar. It is important to tuckpoint when you see deteriorated joint because cracks will allow water, ice, and snow to infiltrate the cracks. allowing water to enter the brick joints will later lead to bigger issues.

Brick Replacement/Rebuild

Brick replacement is the process of removing deteriorated/broken bricks and replacing them with new bricks. Brick rebuild would be the process of removing all the bricks and replacing them with new one. This is common with parapet walls and chimneys due the the high weather exposure.

Chimney Repairs

Chimney repairs can vary from mild tuckpointing to a complete rebuild. Chimneys are exposed to the weathers on all four sides so they deteriorate rapidly.

Lintel Repairs

A lintel is a metal beam that carries the load of brick above your window. A lintel can fail due to rust. Water can infiltrate the wall and be trapped above the lintel if proper flashing is not in place.

Masonry Sealers

Applying masonry sealer is important with porous bricks and CMU blocks. Applying a masonry sealer will prevent water from entering the masonry wall. it is important to maintenance this as required.

Coping Repair

A coping is the piece of masonry that goes on top of the wall to prevent water from getting in-between the walls. Copings must be kept air tight in order to prevent water damage inside and out of the building.
